Recognition highlights Eye Care For Detroit's innovation in mobile healthcare delivery
DETROIT, MI — Dr. Cleamon Moorer Jr., founder and CEO of Eye Care For Detroit, has been named to Crain's Detroit Business 2025 Notable Leaders in Health Care Technology list, recognizing his pioneering work in bringing vision care to underserved and homebound populations.

The recognition celebrates Eye Care For Detroit's innovative model, which combines:
Mobile clinics that bring comprehensive eye exams directly to patients' homes
Detroit's first walk-in eye clinic
GOD (Glasses on Demand)Â technology that manufactures prescription eyewear on-site in under 60 minutes
horeyesontal.ai, an AI-powered platform that generates personalized care plans beginning with retinal imaging
This recognition belongs to our entire team and the 40,000 homebound Detroiters we serve," said Dr. Moorer. "Healthcare innovation isn't about technology for its own sake—it's about removing barriers so everyone has access to the care they deserve.
Since launching in 2022, Eye Care For Detroit has served over 1,500 patients and is on track to serve 4,000 by year-end (2026).
In 2026, the organization operates plans to operate two clinics and multiple mobile units across Detroit and is working with donors and state legislators to expand statewide.
