Building scalable models for healthcare access: Dr. Moorer shares Eye Care for Detroit's approach with top MBA students
DETROIT, MI – Eye Care for Detroit (ECFD) Founder and Executive Director Dr. Cleamon Moorer Jr. was invited to present at the University of Michigan's Stephen M. Ross School of Business on October 24 as part of the Social Venture Fund's Startup Founders Panel.
Dr. Moorer joined a distinguished group of social entrepreneurs presenting to over 30 Ross MBA students on building businesses that create both financial sustainability and social impact. The panel, organized by the Ross Social Venture Fund and advised by Professor Gautam Kaul, focused on the unique challenges and opportunities in scaling ventures that serve underserved communities.
"These students are asking the right questions," Dr. Moorer noted. "They're not asking 'should we pursue profit OR impact?'—they're asking 'how do we build models that create both sustainably?' That's exactly the question we've been answering at ECFD since our founding."
