A week ago, we received life-changing news: Michigan Health Endowment Fund awarded Eye Care for Detroit $500,000 to launch Vision Access Detroit.
For years, we've built a model that eliminates barriers to vision care for homebound seniors. We've navigated closed doors, heard "great idea, but we have to pass," and kept building anyway.

Michigan Health Endowment Fund's investment validates what we've always known: barrier-free healthcare works.
Vision Access Detroit launches in 2026, expanding our mobile vision care to 1000+ homebound seniors annually across Wayne County.
This funding, sponsored by Detroit Area Agency on Aging, enables us to launch Mobile Unit 2—delivering comprehensive eye exams, same-day eyeglasses, and ophthalmology care directly to patients' homes.
This is what happens when vision meets persistence.
